Anyway, he linked to a NY Times piece about Jens Voigt, and how awesome he is. I mean, we already know that Jens is awesome. But it’s worth reading because it includes this great interview:

I had this exact same conversation with my girlfriend yesterday when we were at Staples:

I saw that TI-83+s were $99…which is the same price they were when I was buying them for High School back in 1999 (oh, sorry everyone who thought I was older/younger than that). This stable price was contrasted by the 500gb external hard drive sitting one aisle over. Single gigabyte drives didn’t even exist for consumers in 1999!

So, on the Twitter this morning, Mike Cody posted a link to some sweet, sweet data porn. And it was awesome.

Being a data junkie, I asked if he could color code that data. And he did!

And the results make my EYES BURN WITH DATA. The team breakdown is pretty sweet, though.

It’ll be interesting to see how this looks by the end of the tour.

Transitive Property of Victims

So the most recent road-results.com points list/calculation was just run by the Internet. If you don’t know what the points list is, it is an Internet number that says how good you are.

Anyway, in analyzing that my ranking ONCE AGAIN plummeted and amusing myself with an updated list of victims/nemeses, I discovered the TRANSITIVE PROPERTY OF VICTIMS.

Example:

Massimiliano Accaputo (who?) is one of my victims:

Chandler Delinks is one of Massimiliano’s victims:

Massimilano is my victim. Chandler is Massimiliano’s victim. Therefore, Chandler is my victim.

This is the Transitive Property of Victims. Enjoy.

Charity Ride Success!

As you may have seen over the last few months, I’ve been hitting up my blog reading public for donations for a charity ride.

I’m happy to announce that I’ve met my fundraising goal of $500!

I am really excited, mostly because this was ALL Internet money! I have received donations from people I’ve never met and people who only know me via the blogs and the Twitter.

It was really impressive when I was $50 shy of my goal on Wednesday afternoon. I made a post to the Twitter, went to a meeting, and came back to find that I had received the $50 that was needed!

It was really great.

I’d like to thank you, Internet, for proving that you are a worthwhile group of people who are capable of doing good, and not ONLY evil. I mean, mostly evil, but with a little bit of good.

If you’d like to find out what’s going on with the ride tomorrow, just check out my Twitter page during the day. The ride heads out at 10:30 a.m., we’re meeting at Timberland at 9:30 a.m., and I’m riding down there from Dover at 8 a.m. or so.
