bike racing. high life. internet.

I am not good at racing my cross bike

But I am good at not having catastrophic mechanicals. I am also good at not quitting.

I got popped off the main group at Vermont DAY TWO partway through the second lap. Then it was “oh great ITT on the dirt. sweet.” As I was riding by myself, I noticed people getting off their bikes or riding off the course – with either (or both) their bicycle or their spirits crushed.

Some dude was lapping me, and as I was still riding on the course, he shouted some incoherent grumbling at me which equated to “Get out of the way, shitbag”.

Listen, buddy – if I’m getting lapped on the LONGEST COURSE IN NEW ENGLAND it probably means I’ve been lapped before. Therefore, I know how to get lapped. Therefore, there is no need for angry grumbling. I knew he was coming before he even knew what was going on (because I hadn’t been riding hard for about twenty minutes), so I was in control of the situation.

Hopefully Gloucester is a dirt crit with no moisture whatsoever. Because Ryan+Moisture=Getting second to last. In the meantime, I am going to focus on getting my brakes to squeal at the resonant frequency of the human skull. Then I can explode peoples heads by braking aggressively behind them.

And for those that are wondering, I will be unaffected due to my soundproof helmet.
