Die winter, die.
Because my life is generally awesome, I spent my early morning hours riding my bike from my girlfriend’s in Andover, Mass to my apartment in Dover. For those of you reading this far into the future who cannot discern the date of this post, it is February. And it snowed heavily last night.
Which meant, when I got back to Dover, my bike looked like this:

And yes, my FSA Gossamer crank managed to stay attached.
So, obviously the roads were shitty – which is something I’m getting used to this winter, as I’ve been riding outside far more than in the past. Today’s ride was especially interesting because I saw something totally awesome.
As I was riding up 108 in about Plaistow on the ice covered (and then snow covered, for good measure) roads, a plow truck went by me. Then it came to a slight bend in the road.
Then it turned sideways, and slid down both lanes of the road.
Keep in mind I witnessed this while on a road bike.
So yeah, my life is awesome.
Tomorrow I am planning on doing a 100 mile coffee shop adventure ride with some people from UNH. We are stopping at roughly ten coffee shops. I am strictly enforcing a five-minute per shop time limit.
I’ve pretty much got the route, although it will likely be adjusted based on road conditions. But I haven’t got all the shops.
Can anyone recommend any coffee shops in Amesbury or Newburyport? I realize I’m posting this, on my blog, at ten p.m. on a Friday night. And I know that I’m wasting my youth.
