bike racing. high life. internet.

It’s all in the details…

Sunday was pretty great – the UVM Crit. It was the first time I had spent an entire day at a collegiate bike race as only a spectator (I was at the Beanpot road race for only a little bit). It was good fun, I got take a ton of pictures and scream at people for a few hours.

As I was going through my pictures last night and today, I realized that there are a lot of interesting things in the details…

1. At first glance, this appears to be little more than the front of the D field…

Ds are so exciting...

But when you look closer, you realize that Colin is screaming so hard that he’s probably shitting his pants:

I’m betting that Colin wants him to go faster.

2. Jamey Driscoll, pulling the A field around…

JIMBO!

And then you realize he’s wearing what are probably the first Rudy Project glasses ever made:

The man reeks of style.

3. Rose Long, lighting up the final sprint in the Women’s A race…

Rose can probably beat me in a sprint.

With a battle face that rivals Angus’:

Rose, learn to use your drops.

Yeah. So, next time you take a picture at a bike race…who knows. There could be someone in the background screaming so hard that their eyes are going to bleed.

I really like how every notable picture you took involves a UVM rider.

Can’t you do grad school or something so the rest of the ECCCCCCC isnt so lame?

It sounds like something that I would own.

No, it’s not something you would do teacher friend. Jamey’s front wheel was clean. And his bar tape was neat. And there was not ten years worth of grease layered on the chain, cassette and deraileur.
