Big time bicycle racing

So the last few days have been full of some legit bicycle racing.

I went to Rochester, NY for the Rochester Twilight Crit, which was fun. I was in the 3/4 race, and ended up 9th. It was the first time that I have won money in a race, so that was sweet. I watched the pro race, which was crazy fast. Cory stuck it out for the 2 hour crit, that had riders from Sierra Nevada, TIAA-CREF and other big pro teams.

Tuesday, as in yesterday, was the Exeter Seacoast Crit. I signed up for my first Pro/1/2/3 race not sure what to expect. The field was already stacked when I signed up on pre-reg, with Jon Hamblen and other strong, regional riders. When I got there, things changed.

Because there were four Australian Olympic Track Gold and Silver medalists. And Sierra Nevada riders. And TIAA-CREF riders. And a bunch of people insanely better than I am. But I felt great, and was going to finish in the field until I killed my rear wheel on one of the many potholes.

More in-depth race journals are coming. So yay!
