“We’ll give you a call”

So I came home thinking I had two job opportunities. One at Bethel Cycle and one at Corey’s. My discussions before the end of school with the owner of Bethel Cycle went like this:

Me: Hi, I’d like a job.
Owner (Greg): Okay, I know we’ve got some open hours, give me a call before you get home and we’ll figure it out.
Me: Yay! Job at a bike shop!

And then I called him. And he said to come in when I got home. So I did. And he said that there were a few people he needed to schedule before I could get hours. So he said he’d “Give me a call.”

When applying for jobs, I have found out that the promise of a phone call is code for the promise of getting dicked over.

Long story short, I’ve been calling there every few days reminding him that I want a job. And he says he’s gotta schedule the other guys…a.k.a. dick me over.

Meanwhile, I was also told that I could work at Corey’s. I called when I got home and the guy said “We’re all set”. At least he dicked me over in one phone call, as opposed to the frequent ones I’m making to Bethel Cycle.

You’d think with no job I’d update my site…but I don’t. Because I spend all my time looking for jobs.

by looking for jobs, do you mean you just drive around and look at the places you think youd like to work?

cuz ive tried that before, and it doesnt work

its a familar feeling. i was esentially promised a job at this aerospace company as a summer intern. I walked in the door for my interview and was rejected within the first 30 seconds. the application alone took me over an hour to fill out. Since that time ive already been rejected by 3 other places.

You bastard. Give me my bottle back. We’ll see how well your “power” works at Hartford. Bitch.
