i’m the kind of guy that laughs at a funeral
Two things.
1. I’m boosting wireless internet from my dad’s neighbors. Whammy.
2. Funerals are DUMB.
I’m saying this because my step-dad’s mother died, and her services were today. Now, she was a wonderful lady and it’s terrible that she is gone – but she lived a full life, and one of the fondest memories I have of her is her laughing at the dining room table at some stupid joke Ed made.
Now, to contrast that with the fact that there was an open casket wake after she died of a rare form of fast acting lukiema. Which basically is not a good representation of who she was as a lady – I mean, literally, this is a box with a dead person inside, put at the front of a room for people to kneel infront of.
Does this not seem FUCKED UP to anyone else? Seriously, Catholic Church and other organized religions that promote this idea. Yeah, great idea, let’s ruin people’s memories of their loved ones by displaying them like a piece of meat in a cannibalistic butcher shop. Then we’ll go to a church and sing about how fuckin’ awesome God is and how much he loves us – but, I mean, he created fast acting lukiema, so he’s like that parent that beats you every Friday when they stumble home from the bar – but they still love you.
That’s the basis of my argument against God – cancer and AIDS. If there truly is a creator that loves us, he wouldn’t create cancer and AIDS. There may be a creator, but he doesn’t fully love us. He just sorta likes us – hence internet porn.
Anyway, open casket funerals are stupid. I told my mom that she was getting a 45-minute church service, then a cook-out with all her friends and family with games of badminton and croquet. Because that’s how my family rolls.
None of this sappy religious shit. Fuckin’ hot dogs and competitive lawn games.
